Junghans clocks, particularly mantel clocks are specimens we used to come across quite regularly in our auction adventures. Those looking for these clocks specifically should be able to have luck on eBay as they are always available there.
The town of origin for this company is Schramberg, once in Austria until the early nineteenth century, and then part of a German state. The town is actually situation in the eastern Black Forest, a clock-making hub for much of the heyday of mechanical commercial clock-making. Interestingly, though, Junghans did not create cuckoo clocks for which the Black Forest is most famous.
